Kumiko 02
The second figure in the kumiko series — a different lattice variation built on the same Japanese wooden joinery vocabulary.
The second figure in the kumiko series. The lattice tradition gives a deep vocabulary of arrangements — same wooden vocabulary, different geometry each time. A different kumiko panel, a different repeating figure across the same kind of frame.
Where one figure runs strictly geometric, the next softens; where one is open, the next fills in. The four-figure series shows the range that a single craft tradition can carry without leaving its own language.
At jewelry scale one figure becomes a pendant face. At larger scales the same drawing carries a screen, a sliding door insert, or a translucent panel.
The same patience that fills a pendant fills a panel.
